The 2022 edition of the annual Okapya Soccer tournament will be back with a bang on the 22nd of December in the north.

The Marlins Aquatic Club (MAC) hosted the 2nd leg of their long course swimming gala over the weekend at the Olympia Swimming Pool. The event was sponsored by Bank Windhoek.

The much-anticipated Debmarine Namibia Premiership started in earnest at the Hage Geingob Stadium with an opening match between African Stars and Unam.

The match was won by African Stars 1-0.

The national rugby side, better known as the Welwitschias, went down to the Griquas by 18 to 33 in the first installment of the Dr Hage Geingob Project Rugby Cup contested in Windhoek on Saturday.

Minister of Sport, Youth and National Service, Agnes Tjongarero, invited parliamentarians to upcoming sport events. 
 

French Leave from the Aminius horse racing scoop the first ever Gobabis Derby that was sponsored by Debmarine.

The event took place at Gobabis Turf Club on Saturday .

Over 80 horses took part in the first ever Gobabis Summer Derby which is sponsored by Debmarine Namibia.

Top flight football will return to the pitch for the first time in three years when Katutura-based African Stars and the students of Unam clash in the opening match of the Debmarine Namibia Premiership on Sunday.

Dance Sport Namibia is conducting a professional training course for coaches and judges at the Dag-breek Special School in Windhoek. The course is offered by South African Instructor Randal Raubenheimer and started on Monday. 

It will conclude on the 31st of this month. 

Namibia's WBO Global Super Bantamweight Champion Fillipus Nghitumbwa displayed incredible energy as he successfully defended his title against South African Sabelo Ngebinyana at the Ramatex Centre in Windhoek on Saturday.

Namibia's indoor hockey women's team claimed the indoor series this past weekend, while their male counterparts had to settle for second place against neighbors South Africa. 

The 10 test Indoor Hockey Series between both the women's and men's  teams of Namibia and South Africa concluded on Sunday.
