The death of Khoekhoegowab researcher Michael Doëseb has been described as a big loss to his family and the Damaran community.

Doëseb was a cultural enthusiast and Khoekhoegowab preserver who lived with his family in Khorixas, Kunene Region. 

Mariental Street renamed after late Katrina Hanse-Himarwa

One of the longest streets in Mariental was today renamed Katrina Hanse-Himarwa Street. 

Urban and Rural Development Deputy Minister Evelyne !Nawases-Taeyele said the street naming is a testament to Hanse-Himarwa's legacy and impact.

Procession held for Katrina Hanse-Himarwa

Namibians are remembering the former Education Minister, Katrina Hanse-Himarwa, who died on Sunday for her contribution to the country's education system. 

Hanse-Himarwa has been conferred an official funeral.
