NEKA elects new leadership

The Annual General Meeting of the Namibian Exile Kids Association (NEKA) in Otjiwarongo has elected Kadiva Hamutumwa as the new president, with Sackey Nendongo as the deputy.

Elisabeth Nghitende is the Secretary General, with Simubali Simubali as the deputy.

The Ministry of Environment, Forestry, and Tourism is currently conducting an assessment to determine the extent of rhino poaching. In light of the recent poaching incidents in the park, the ministry has also requested an urgent high-level meeting with the security cluster.

John Amakali, a veteran of the liberation struggle affectionately known as Nakaundule, was laid to rest at the Eenhana Memorial Shrine.

Swakopmund Museum exhibits 1904 - 1908 Genocide

For the first time in 125 years, the Swakopmund Museum is displaying an exhibition on the 1904-08 Herero and Nama Genocide.

Previously, the museum only showcased the colonial background of German successes in the country, with no mention of the black communities living in Swakopmund.
