Breaking bad habits means making changes, and this involves strong emotions, even when change is intended for the better.

The 'We Are Not Gonna Do That' motivational event is an initiative by nbc's Sports News Anchor and Production Officer, 33-year-old Jessica Kaimu.

Music lovers from all walks of life gathered at various outdoor spots in Otjiwarongo to enjoy the music of different genres in celebration of World Music Day.

Otjiwarongo, the heart of the Otjozondjupa Region, put together a music festival through the Directorate of Education, Arts, and Culture.

Trustco Group and nbc sign MoU to embark on various programmes

The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (nbc) has signed a five-year memorandum of understanding with the Trustco Group to undertake several programmes.

The main focus of the agreement is to bring back the popular Winna Mariba show as well as introduce new programmes such as a sports trivia show, a financial literacy programme, and an entrepreneurship development programme.

nbc Director-General Stanley Similo explains that the sports shows will provide opportunities for Namibians to actively participate and engage in entertainment.

The Chief Executive Officer of Miss Namibia, Umbi Karuaihe-Upi, says the country is ready to compete in international beauty pageants.

The top ten Miss Namibia finalists are currently on tour in the ||Kharas Region, discovering the breathtaking landscapes of the southern region.

The ten finalists in this year's Miss Namibia Beauty pageant were taken on a tour to Giants Playgroup, situated a few kilometres outside Keetmanshoop.

Saturday night was one to remember as the Miss Namibia Organisation put on a glamorous show in the capital, Windhoek.

Not only that but there was diversity in both beauty pageant contestants and those on the carpet.

It was all fun and glamour under the blue lights.

During the preliminary round, 30 beauty pageant contestants competed for the first ten spots.

nbc Molelo radio drama project expected to air between November and December

The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (nbc) has started working on the Molelo Radio Drama project, which is targeting all eleven radio services. 

The project is a result of the scientific audience research that was recently carried out by the broadcaster to determine the audience.

This week, the nbc is hosting a workshop session for producers, writers, and drama experts that is currently underway in Windhoek.

The drama project, which targets young people, will be broadcast in various languages.

NAMPOWER gates attracts numbers of visitors to Ruacana Waterfalls

The Ruacana Waterfalls have attracted a number of visitors since Nampower opened two scour gates last week.

The opening of the gates was a result of significant rain received in the central and upper parts of the Kunene River catchment in Angola since the beginning of March.

The Ruacana and Epupa waterfalls, in the Omusati and Kunene regions, respectively, are the main waterfalls in the country.

The falls have been inactive since April of last year and receive few visitors.

The closing date for applications for Miss Namibia and Miss Teen Namibia is Wednesday, April 12.

Interested applicants are urged to visit the regional offices of the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (nbc) to access application forms and get the chance to represent Namibia on the international stage.

Since the nbc took over 100% ownership of the Miss Namibia Organization, the corporation has been going on roadshows throughout the country to ensure inclusive participation in the beauty pageant, which will take place in Swakopmund in June.

The Zambezi Bream Easter annual festival is underway at Katima Mulilo.

This is the second time the festival is taking place.

It brought together SME owners and agencies that are exhibiting their products amid cultural performances.

Speaking to the nbc News team, one of the organizers, Ronald Mutakela, said the event is not only bringing a culture of business to the town, but it also gives young and mostly unemployed residents a chance to make a living as well.

More than 300 inbound cars enters Swakopmund for Easter weekend

More than 300 inbound cars passed the Swakopmund roadblock during the early morning hours of Friday, and police expect a high number of inbound vehicles as the Easter weekend progresses.

Swakopmund is known for being an ever-popular getaway for locals and visitors, offering plenty of opportunities for sports, adventure, and plain old-fashioned fun.

Namibians, mostly from Windhoek and the southern parts of the country, made their way to Swakopmund.

Many people were seen swimming and playing beach volleyball and soccer in town, while others lazed around in the sun.
